About This Spot
Blake’s in Luling feels like stepping into a comforting, familiar corner of small-town Texas where time slows just enough to let you settle in. It’s the kind of place that wraps you in a friendly embrace from the moment you walk through its doors—spacious yet cozy, with a quiet hum of easy conversation and the occasional cheer from a nearby TV tuned to college football. The atmosphere is unpretentious and welcoming, inviting both locals and visitors to pause, relax, and savor a genuine taste of the region.

Whether you're with friends, family, or just indulging in a quiet meal alone, the environment encourages you to unwind and enjoy the moment without rush.
Food at Blake’s feels like a celebration of classic American diner and Southern seafood traditions, with a particular affection for fried favorites that carry a satisfying crunch and bold flavors. Think tender catfish plated alongside crisp fried okra, or a generous chicken fried steak paired perfectly with golden onion rings. These dishes, alongside fresh salads and hearty burgers, offer a little something for everyone, with plate sizes that invite sharing or savored leftovers. The drinks, from freshly brewed iced tea to simple sodas, complement the meal with thoughtful simplicity.
This is a place where the comfort food is as much about the company and setting as the seasoning—where neighbors gather and visitors find a sense of belonging, all in a clean, well-kept space that feels both unassuming and cared for. Blake’s isn’t just a meal; it’s a moment to connect with a community, enjoy familiar flavors done well, and soak in a slice of Texas hospitality that’s as honest as it is warm.

Amazingly delicious. The service was great!! Food Amazing. I had the catfish plate. My friend had the chicken fried steak. Full full full of flavor. If you like fried zucchini, this is the place to get. When I'm in the area, again will definitely stop back by. The wait staff were on top of things and answered all our questions. Also enjoyed reading the building history on the table menu.

We were seated immediately and the service was great! The food was delicious and the serving sizes are big. My husband had the chicken fried steak and we could have shared it. The only thing that was a problem was the fried pickles were a bit greasy when we got down to the bottom. However, I would highly recommend this restaurant!!

We had a nice experience. College football was on and the vibe was small town comfortable. The dining room is spacious and can handle large groups if necessary. My wings were not crispy and lacked the kick you expect from Buffalo sauce. This was the only negative however. The chicken fried chicken and sides were spot on. Beware: They charge a fee to use a debit or credit card. Not ok IMO.

Dinner here on 7/18/25. Easy parking. We were seated right away. Nice clean, cool comfy place. Good cold iced tea for drinks. Rolls and butter came with drinks. We each had a house salad. Nice cold and crisp lettuce and fresh tomato. We shared one enormous chicken fried steak and a side of onion rings. Steak was hot and very tender. With a generous tip our total was only $33. Schedule this for a repeat.

Food was AMAZING, staff was very nice & welcoming! O ly 4 stars for atmosphere only because it was hard to hear the rest of the table speak.
